A Letter From My Future Self

A small letter from the person I may become, reminding me to keep the site honest, strange, and alive.

#future-self#reflection#personal-os

Dear current me,

I am writing from a little further down the timeline. Not very far. Just far enough to see which things stayed.

You may think the important work is making everything look finished. It is not. The important work is keeping the signal clean.

Save what feels real

Do not only save the impressive days.

Save the day when you cooked because you were tired. Save the walk that helped your brain become quiet. Save the book idea that followed you into the next morning. Save the project that looked small but taught you how to think more clearly.

Future memory is built from ordinary pieces.

Keep the interface honest

Your website should not pretend to be a company. It should not sound like a product launch every week.

Let it be a desk. Let it be a lab. Let it be a notebook with better navigation.

When the design becomes too loud, return to the sentence. When the sentence becomes too vague, return to the moment.

Stay weird enough

Do not remove all the strange parts.

The command palette, the signal map, the system labels, the idea of a Personal OS — these are not necessary in a strict sense. But they make the site feel like yours.

Useful things can still have a little imagination inside them.

Keep building the small system. I still use it from here.

未来的你不会感谢今天的你变得完美,但会感谢今天的你留下了真实的线索。
