I Built a Small Personal OS

A personal website can be more than pages. It can become a place where writing, life, notes, and projects learn to talk to each other.

#personal-os#website#memory

A normal blog is a list of posts. I wanted this site to feel more like a small operating system for my life.

Not a real OS with windows, files, and settings. More like a quiet layer that helps me notice what I am doing, what I am learning, and what I keep returning to.

Four rooms

The site has four main rooms.

Blog is for longer thoughts. Life is for small memories. Notes are for ideas that are still growing. Lab is for experiments that may or may not become useful.

Each room has a different speed. A blog post is slow. A life note can be quick. A note can stay unfinished. A lab project can be messy while it is being built.

That difference matters. If every idea has to become a polished article, I will write less. If every memory has to be important, I will save fewer ordinary days.

A system for returning

The real value of a personal site is not only publishing. It is returning.

I want to return to a trip and remember more than the famous place. I want to return to a book and find the one idea that changed my next day. I want to return to a small project and see what I was trying to learn.

The site becomes useful when old signals can still speak.

Not perfect, but alive

This system does not need to be complete. It only needs to stay alive.

One honest paragraph is enough. One photo with a sentence is enough. One note about a strange idea is enough. The goal is not to make a perfect archive. The goal is to keep a living map.

一个个人网站最好的部分,不是它看起来多完整,而是它还能不能继续接住新的生活。
